Go to Installation directory, i.e. navigate to C:\Program Files<x86>\ManageEngine\ADAudit Plus\ and locate ' jre_new '. Rename it to ' jre '. Now go to services and start 'ManageEngine ADAudit Plus' service.

Recently applied the service pack to update from 4661 to 5000.  Since that point the service will not start and displays the attached message.  Submitted a support request but have gotten no response.

Hi,

Apologies for the delay,

Please upload us the log files for further analysis.

Steps to upload,

1. Goto <Installation_Folder_ADAudit Plus>\logs
2. Compress the entire contents of the folder
4. Fill in the necessary details
5. Add the compressed log file
6. Click on "Upload"

Alternatively, if you can provide us your contact details by emailing at "support@adauditplus.com", we can take a remote desktop of the computer and troubleshoot.

Regards,
Bala

Changing service account password

I recently had to change the service account password for the account that runs AdAudit plus. After updating the password for the service I'm still getting logon on failures from that machine. Is there something else I have to change?

My guess is

Admin Tab

Administration section

Domain Setting Option

Right below the  *Configured Domain(s)* title, there is a drop down with your domain name.

Hit that drop down and select Modify Creds and add the new password.

If you altered that and are still getting login failures.  Check to see if an old RDP session is still running on the box or a drive is mapped.

Ah I bet that was what I was missing. Forgot the account is also set there. Thanks.

For a best practice, you could just have the credentials configured only under the service.

So, Can i not enable this option if my database size is low?
How can I do it if I need to enable it by SOX controls?
Pls let me know.

Luis,

Please be noted that 'Archiving' in ADAudit Plus takes place on demand when the above couple conditions are satisfied. If it wasn't for archiving, data would still exists in the database, so there won't be any data loss which ensures the tool still have data for any compliance requirements.

CryptoGuard / Ransomware - Detected Ransomware for Java Component in ADAudit Plus

Hello Group,

I'm having issues with our ADAudit Plus being detected almost daily for "Ransomware" for what appears to be related to "Java" Component for this software. The only indications that our Virus Protection - "Sophos" is that the Java-Process is trying to "encrypt" files.

Do you know if this is a legitimate claim for Ransomware or is this apart of the ADAudit Process to "encrypt" information as it's communicating between Servers / Networks?

I want to be sure that this is a legit process or ransomware before I place this into the Exceptions-List. In other words, I do not want to remove restrictions only to have the Ransomware take control.

I have already performed several "Virus Scans" for Rootkits, Malware, Viruses, Suspicious Files, etc. I have checked for Hidden Files in C:\Root and C:\Windows\System32\. There are no files that call out for my attention.

Please advise in how I can detect the issue.

Logon information not available (Security Event Log)

Last tuesday (April 4th, 2017) our 4 Domain Controllers (Windows 2012R2) have been updated with the latest updates from Microsoft and have been seperately rebooted. From that moment our ADAuditPlus server cannot read logon information anymore from our domain. We did not change anything regarding settings in ADAuditPlus (all 4 DC's are available and working), nor did we change anything concerning policies and/or settings on our Domain or it's controllers. There is still some information read from the DC's, but not the information it should be able to get from the Security Event Log.

Any one any idea what could possibly be wrong?

Hi Chris,

Please note all temporary files created for processing by ADAudit Plus will be written under our installation folder only.  So you can very well add an exception for ADAudit Plus process to read/write under our installation folder.

Also if you have configured a network path for 'Schedule Reports' or 'Archive Events' corresponding files will be written in that path.

Please let me know for any further questions, I would be glad to assist.

No Data Available - KB4012216 is NOT installed on Domain Controllers

I get "No Data Available" for "Top User Logon Failures" "Logon Failures - Error Code" and "Logon Peak Hour Usage".

I have checked and KB4012216 is NOT installed on our Domain Controllers.

For "good measure" i did follow the workaround instructions for that KB with no change.

This was fine working Yesterday, but when I logged in today there was "No Data Available".   No updates were applied to the server, nor were the domain servers restarted.

Only thing I remember doing yesterday was setting up some email notifications and changing the ADAudit Web Console Admin password from default.
